Introduction
AI agents can work with a Shipmondo account in two ways: through our MCP server or through the Shipmondo CLI. Both are built on the Shipmondo API, and an agent can book shipments, find orders, compare prices, look up service points and query statistics from a plain-language request.
- MCP server: Connect chat assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini with a single URL. The assistant logs in with OAuth, so no API key is handed to it.
- Shipmondo CLI: A command line interface covering every endpoint in the API. It is designed for coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot, but works just as well in your own scripts.
Which one should I use?
| MCP server | Shipmondo CLI | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Chat assistants and everyday tasks | Coding agents, scripts and automation |
| Authentication | OAuth, approved by the account owner | API user and key |
| Coverage | A curated set of tools | Every endpoint in the API |
| Labels and documents | Not available | Available, and can be opened as PDFs |
| Payments | Not available | Available |
| Installation | None | A single binary |
If you are building an integration, the CLI is also a quick way to explore the API from your terminal before writing any code.
